Dr. Joseph Shaffo
I am a proud member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the Pennsylvania Physical Therapy Association (PPTA)
Joe knows physical therapy:
Dr. Joe Shaffo has been serving the Penn Township community with exceptional outpatient physical therapy services since April 3, 1995. During his training at Slippery Rock University and The University of Pittsburgh, he earned both an advanced Master's degree in manual therapy and a Doctorate degree in physical therapy.
Dr. Shaffo has consistently performed routine evaluations and treatments for a wide scope of patient problems including those commonly seen in orthopedics, sports medicine, auto accidents, and workers compensation injuries among others. Most notably, he has provided physical therapy services to hundreds of competitive and recreational athletes.
Sports Physical Therapy and Athletic Training:
Dr. Shaffo has an Athletic Training License, and worked over 25 years in sports medicine with direct involvement in the evaluation and treatment of competitive athletes at the high school, college and professional level. Joe has been the sports physical therapist for the Woodland Hills high school football team for 27 years. His experiences give him the background to offer a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation that will lead to a prompt evaluation and treatment of sports injuries. A treatment plan will be individually designed to enhance recovery, prevent future injury, return to sport and help athletes reach their maximum potential.
